HEROIC and Cloud9 will face off in a best-of-three for the first spot in the playoffs.
The first day of the IEM Rio Major Legends Stage has come to an end, with two rounds of the Swiss stage playing out to determine the first four teams that will fight for a playoff spot, and the first set that will battle to avoid an early elimination.
The 2-0 pool features a brawl between the No .5 and No. 7 teams in the world, HEROIC and Cloud9, as well as a match between BIG and hometown heroes FURIA, who will be hoping to secure an early berth to the Jeunesse Arena to play in front of thousands of Brazilian fans.

Meanwhile, reigning Major champions FaZe have found themselves on the brink of elimination after suffering defeats to Cloud9 and Vitality on day one, and will need to recover from an 0-2 record solely through winning best-of-threes, beginning with a match against Bad News Eagles.
Ninjas in Pyjamas will also be fighting for their tournament life in a match against Sprout, hoping to recover from their own poor start following losses to fnatic and Outsiders.
Best-of-ones will continue in the 1-1 pool to start the day however, starting with fight between Natus Vincere and Liquid, and followed by a battle between Outsiders and Spirit.
